2010 What's New

Congratulations

Egyptian sired gelding, Treff-Haven Xarife (TreffHaven Xplorer x TreffHaven Fazala) has a new home with Kacy Kobrin, LA. Their future plans include having lots of fun, learning some dressage, and riding endurance. Join us in wishing this new team all the best, and be watching for more news!

Treff-Haven Salma and Treff-Haven Xarife

Treff-Haven Yumi (TreffHaven Xplorer x Nadila Sha) and Treff-Haven Salma (Nagsous x Alidance) have joined Van Alma Arabians as foundation broodmares for their straight Egyptian program. Yumi is a granddaughter of Nabiel and the Kaisoon (Nazeer x Bint Kateefa) son *Areef. Her tail female goes to *Fawkia through Gleannloch's beautiful Ana Gayah. Salma traces to Sameh through *Sultann in her tail male line from her Gleannloch bred sire, who also contributes a line to the Sameh son *Ibn Hafiza. Prince Ibn Shaikh, Alidaar, Moniet El Sharaf are among the more familiar names included from her dam. Both mares have movement to burn and are expected to be ones to watch in the breeding shed. (see below)

Breeding Shed

Treff-Haven Yumi has arrived with plans for breeding with Treff-Haven Labeeb. Yumi is a Nabiel granddaughter by TreffHaven Xplorer, our 3/4 German bred straight Egyptian stallion. Labeeb is a rare non-Nazeer, non-Babson straight Egyptian stallion. This cross has exciting potential with the wonderful athletic traits offered by both these individuals as well as the pedigrees to back them up.

Bint Lebleba (*GAF Mosaad x *Lebleba) will try for another foal with Treff-Haven Azrak (Sahlih x Treff-Haven Nasana), a non-Nazeer *Ibn Hafiza grandson whose dam is by another GAF (El Ghorab Arabian Farm, the Johansons) import from Egypt, *GAF Hosam (Sabeel x Mouna). This pair has produced two sons, 2 and 3 years of age. At 22 years, we're hoping to have Bint Lebleba settle and give us a daughter.

More to come...

Broodmare News

Treff-Haven Arabians has one foal expected for 2010, out of Leilaah (Ruminaja Majed x *Subhaya) and by Nagsous (Makhsous x Nagliah). Due the latter half of April, Leilaah is carrying well and we're hopeful for a safe delivery and exciting new addition in the very near future. The foal will be full sibling to the beautiful Treff-Haven Leina, a Grand Champion Halter Mare and Treff-Haven Lakiya (unshown), both 15.3 hh+ mares.

2009 Highlights

2009 Foals
The Treff-Haven broodmares Alidance and Treff-Haven Nasana have delivered the 2009 foals. Both fine colts, Nasana's grey son arrived May 10th and is the first offspring for (TH) Labeeb ((TH) Emir X Bint Lebleba), he is also non-Nazeer and non-Babson, Hadban Inzahi strain. This young fellow projects power and strength, having a very solid structure, large hindquarters, strong bone and a well set on, arched neck. Alidance's, a bay Saqlawi Jidran, is sired by the non-Nazeer stallion, (TH) Azrak (Sahlih X (TH) Nasana). He is extremely elegant and refined with a long neck and showy attitude. Alidance is one of our high Nazeer bred individuals, however, in making this combination they give us an outcross bred offspring, as is also the case with the Nagsous foals she has produced.

BIG NEWS!!

Can you tell us the winner of the Egyptian Event 25 mile Endurance ride in Lexington, KY on June 6, 2009? Well, if you said Galaxy Aanuket wz, or Nuke or one of a couple other nicknames used to mean this Galaxy I (RA Jahim X Etnasha) son out of Treff-Haven Nageed (Nagsous X Naheed) owned by Mark and Marie Sobiski, you are right on target. And not only that...Nuke set a new record there at this distance with the impressive time of just 1 hr 44min! He was well guided to this outcome by Rebecca Hayden who has been aboard for all of his rides, this being his 8th competitive one (following a trial first go to get a feel for what it's all about and with no finish goals attached). In those 8 rides he finished 3 - thirds, 3 - seconds, a 4th and now a win, and a very decisive one at that, plus he received reserve BC - to add to a BC and another reserve earlier this year! *See below (in 2008 Related News) for more details on some of these rides. Meanwhile, Nuke also placed top ten in the Institute for the Desert Arabian Horse awards for 2008! And he isn't done yet...stay tuned right here for continueing news on the Nuke Adventures channel.

The latest for Treff-Haven Lamir and owner Sarah Willis...Lamir and Sarah attended their first class A show in March 2009 showing Intro Dressage Walk/Trot. This young gelding has been doing some maturing and he and Sarah had a great time at the show, doing well in their classes, however the chance to relax and learn was foremost on the agenda and that went off a roaring success. We're so pleased with this pair as they keep coming along and, most of all, that they are having fun at the same time.

These 2 geldings are being shown by their amateur owners at Susar Farms Open Horse Shows, Denton, TX. Learn more about Susar Farms Arabians and their horse shows at their website.

Treff-Haven Alizeer (TreffHaven Xplorer X Aliama) is a straight Egyptian gelding with German lineage through his sire and is an Alidaar grandson on his dam's side. He is ridden and shown by owner Chris Bode.

Treff-Haven IbnNaheed (Treff-Haven Emir X Naheed) is a non-Nazeer straight Egyptian whose grandsire *GAF Hosam (Sabeel X Mouna, Moniet El Nefous daughter) was imported from Egypt by the Johansons in the late 1970's and was a successful Dressage/Jumping stallion. Naheed (*Zaghloul X Nagliah) was bred by Gleannloch Farms and has made many welcome contributions to own program. IbnNaheed is coming along well with owner Jan Cooper and learning Western and English riding which they've been putting into practice at the shows.
